Exploring the Enchanting World of ‘The Secret World of Arrietty’

Have you watched anime movies like My Neighbor Totoro, Kiki’s Delivery Service, Ponyo, or Spirited Away?

They are all released by a company called Studio Ghibli.

The Secret World of Arrietty is written by the same anime director Hayao Miyazaki released in 2010. It’s based on a book called “The Borrowers” by Mary Norton.

Arrietty and her parents are miniature creatures only four inches tall living in an old house secretly.

Their house is made of things collected from nature and the human house.

I am not sure what Arrietty and her parents are.

……are they fairies?

I remember I imagined (or believed) that someone like Arrietty lived in my house when I was little.

If you are a miniature lover and reader of my blog, you will love this movie.

Just look at her bedroom!

I am sure you enjoy the details you see in the movie like a plant pot as a kitchen exhaust, mini perfume bottles decorated…

Or buttons, a pull tub, and a watch on the wall…

Or a huge laundry pin on Arrietty’s hair.

The Secret World of Arrietty is a great story that anyone can enjoy (no scary part). And if you are into miniature you will fall in love with the beautiful artwork.

Try this movie for your next movie night:-)
